11-Panel Oral Fluid Drug Test Overview

This 11-panel oral-fluid drug test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of drugs and drug metabolites in human oral fluid. The self-contained flip-top device supports directly observed, non-invasive specimen collection and includes a saliva saturation indicator to help confirm that an adequate specimen has been collected.

  • Keep the device upright while the test develops. Read and interpret the results at approximately 5 minutes, following the timing instructions supplied with the test.

Professional screening use: This configuration is intended for employment, insurance and forensic screening. It provides only a qualitative, preliminary analytical result. Any presumptive positive result should be confirmed using a more specific laboratory method such as GC/MS or GC/MS/MS.

    Drugs and Cutoff Concentrations

This configuration screens for the following 11 drugs and drug metabolites at the listed cutoff concentrations.

Detectable Drug Abbreviation Cutoff Estimated Detection Window
    Amphetamine AMP 50 ng/mL 24-48 hours
    Barbiturates BAR 50 ng/mL 24-48 hours
    Buprenorphine BUP 5 ng/mL 6-12 hours
    Benzodiazepines BZO 10 ng/mL 6-8 hours
Cocaine COC 20 ng/mL Up to 24 hours
    Ecstasy MDMA 50 ng/mL 24-48 hours
Methamphetamine MET 50 ng/mL Up to 72 hours
    Methadone MTD 30 ng/mL 24-48 hours
    Opiates OPI 40 ng/mL 24-48 hours
    Oxycodone OXY 20 ng/mL 6-12 hours
    Marijuana THC 40 ng/mL 8-12 hours
    !

Detection windows are general estimates, not guarantees. Actual detection can vary substantially based on the substance, dose, frequency and duration of use, collection timing, individual metabolism and other biological factors. A negative result does not prove that no drug was used.

    How to Perform the Test

    1. Bring the test device to room temperature, 59-86°F (15-30°C), before use.
    2. Make sure the donor has not placed anything in the mouth, including food, beverages, gum or tobacco products, for at least 10 minutes before collection.
    3. Using the supplied collector, sweep the sponge inside the mouth along the cheeks, gums and tongue several times. Hold the sponge in the mouth until color appears in the saturation-indicator window. Do not bite, suck or chew the sponge.
    4. If the saturation indicator has not changed color after 7 minutes, proceed with the test according to the package insert.
    5. Place the device upright on a clean, flat surface. Insert the collection sponge slowly into the device until it reaches the bottom, then close the flip-top cap until it locks.
    6. Keep the device upright while the test develops and read the results at approximately 5 minutes.

    Understanding the Results

    Result What You See Interpretation
Negative A Control (C) line and a Test (T) line appear for the drug being screened The drug concentration is below the stated cutoff. Any visible T line, even a faint line, is interpreted as negative.
Presumptive Positive A Control (C) line appears, but no Test (T) line appears for the drug being screened The drug concentration may be at or above the stated cutoff. Send the specimen for laboratory confirmation.
Invalid The Control (C) line does not appear The test did not run correctly. Review the procedure and repeat the test with a new device.

    Storage and Handling

    • Store the sealed test between 36-86°F (2-30°C).
    • Do not freeze.
    • Keep the test in its sealed pouch until use.
    • Do not use the test after the expiration date printed on the pouch.
    • Handle all oral-fluid specimens as potentially hazardous and dispose of used devices according to applicable requirements.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What does this 11-panel oral-fluid drug test screen for?

It screens for amphetamine, barbiturates, buprenorphine, benzodiazepines, cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine, methadone, opiates, oxycodone and marijuana/THC.

    How quickly are results available?

Preliminary screening results are typically available in approximately 5 minutes. Always follow the timing instructions supplied with the test kit.

How is the oral-fluid specimen collected?

The supplied sponge collector is swept along the cheeks, gums and tongue and then held in the mouth until the saliva saturation indicator changes color. The collector is then inserted into the flip-top testing device.

What does a faint test line mean?

Any visible Test (T) line, even a faint line, is interpreted as a negative result for that drug when the Control (C) line is also present.

Does a presumptive positive result require confirmation?

Yes. This test provides a qualitative preliminary result. A presumptive positive result should be confirmed using a more specific laboratory method such as GC/MS or GC/MS/MS.

    How many tests are included?

Each box contains 25 individually packaged, single-use oral-fluid test devices and collectors.

Security at Stripe: Learn how Stripe handles security.

A PCI-certified auditor has audited Stripe. We’re a certified PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, we use the best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security at Stripe.

HTTPS and HSTS for secure connections

Stripe forces HTTPS for all services using TLS (SSL), including our public website and the Dashboard to ensure secure connections:

    • Stripe.js is served only over TLS.
    • Stripe’s official libraries connect to Stripe’s servers over TLS and verify TLS certificates on each connection.

We regularly audit the details of our implementation, including the certificates we serve, the certificate authorities we use, and the ciphers we support. We use HSTS to ensure that browsers interact with Stripe only over HTTPS. Stripe is also on the HSTS preloaded lists for both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

    Sensitive data and communication encryption

All card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe’s internal servers and daemons can obtain plain text card numbers but can request that cards are sent to a service provider on a static allowlist. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in a separate hosting environment, and doesn’t share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services including our API and website.
