Detection windows are general estimates, not guarantees. Actual detection can vary substantially based on the substance, dose, frequency and duration of use, collection timing, individual metabolism and other biological factors. A negative result does not prove that no drug was used.
How to Perform the Test
- Bring the test device to room temperature, 59-86°F (15-30°C), before use.
- Make sure the donor has not placed anything in the mouth, including food, beverages, gum or tobacco products, for at least 10 minutes before collection.
- Using the supplied collector, sweep the sponge inside the mouth along the cheeks, gums and tongue several times. Hold the sponge in the mouth until color appears in the saturation-indicator window. Do not bite, suck or chew the sponge.
- If the saturation indicator has not changed color after 7 minutes, proceed with the test according to the package insert.
- Place the device upright on a clean, flat surface. Insert the collection sponge slowly into the device until it reaches the bottom, then close the flip-top cap until it locks.
- Keep the device upright while the test develops and read the results at approximately 5 minutes.
