How to Perform the Test
Crush a pill into powder or collect the liquid or powder directly, then prepare it in water according to the package insert and applicable local public-health or harm-reduction guidance.
The insert cites a CFSRE recommendation of one scoop, approximately 5-10 mg, of a drug sample in 5 mL of water. Follow applicable local guidance for the sample being tested.
Bring the test and prepared sample to 18°C-30°C (65°F-86°F). Remove the strip from its pouch and use it as soon as possible.
Hold the printed end and immerse the absorbent end vertically near the MAX marker line. Do not allow the liquid level to exceed the MAX line.
Remove the strip from the sample and place it on a clean, dry, nonabsorbent surface.
Interpret the result at 5 minutes. Results read after more than 5 minutes may be inaccurate and should not be used.
