The Instant-View Menopause Test is an over-the-counter, qualitative urine test that detects follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) at a sensitivity of 40 mIU/mL. Elevated FSH may be associated with the transition into menopause. Each kit contains two convenient midstream test devices, with results read at five minutes.
Follicle-stimulating hormone is produced by the pituitary gland and helps regulate reproductive processes. As ovarian function decreases during the menopause transition, FSH levels may rise. The Instant-View Menopause Test uses antibodies specific to FSH to determine whether elevated FSH is present in a urine sample.
Follow the complete package-insert instructions before testing. Avoid drinking large amounts of liquid for 30 minutes before taking the test because excess liquid may dilute the urine sample.
It qualitatively detects follicle-stimulating hormone, or FSH, in urine at a sensitivity of 40 mIU/mL. Elevated FSH may be associated with the transition into menopause.
No. A positive result indicates elevated FSH, which may be associated with menopause or perimenopause. The result should be evaluated together with your symptoms and medical history by a healthcare professional.
Read the result at five minutes. A strong positive may become visible within two to three minutes, but the full five-minute development time should be allowed. Do not interpret results after 10 minutes.
The package insert states that the test may be performed at any time of day. Avoid drinking large amounts of liquid for approximately 30 minutes before testing because this may dilute the urine.
According to the package insert, a faint test line is still considered a positive result.
The package insert reports greater than 99% agreement in a laboratory comparison study. However, the test detects elevated FSH and should not be used by itself to diagnose menopause or perimenopause.
A negative result does not necessarily rule out perimenopause or menopause. Repeat the test with a new device and fresh urine if appropriate, and discuss persistent symptoms with your healthcare professional.
No. This test should not be used to determine fertility, pregnancy status or whether contraception is still needed.
Oral or patch contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy, estrogen supplements and certain fertility treatments may affect FSH test results. Consult a healthcare professional if you have questions about medications or treatment.
Each kit contains two single-use Instant-View Menopause FSH midstream test devices.
The test has a shelf life of up to 24 months from the date of manufacture. Always check the expiration date printed on the product packaging before use.

Security at Stripe: Learn how Stripe handles security.
A PCI-certified auditor has audited Stripe. We’re a certified PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, we use the best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security at Stripe.
Stripe forces HTTPS for all services using TLS (SSL), including our public website and the Dashboard to ensure secure connections:
We regularly audit the details of our implementation, including the certificates we serve, the certificate authorities we use, and the ciphers we support. We use HSTS to ensure that browsers interact with Stripe only over HTTPS. Stripe is also on the HSTS preloaded lists for both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
All card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe’s internal servers and daemons can obtain plain text card numbers but can request that cards are sent to a service provider on a static allowlist. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in a separate hosting environment, and doesn’t share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services including our API and website.
