Flowflex PLUS COVID-19 and Flu A/B Home Test procedure overview

Understanding the Results

Positive: The control line is visible and a line appears at CoV, A or B. Any visible test line, even a faint one, should be treated as positive for the corresponding virus.

Negative: The control line appears, but no line appears at CoV, A or B. Negative results are presumptive and do not rule out infection.

Invalid: The control line does not appear, even if another line is visible. Repeat the test with a new swab and test cassette.

Repeat testing: Repeat the test 48 hours after an initial negative SARS-CoV-2 result.

Result limitations: Negative results do not rule out SARS-CoV-2, influenza A or influenza B infection and should not be the sole basis for treatment or infection-control decisions. Individuals with negative results and continuing symptoms should seek follow-up care from a healthcare provider.

Important Test Limitations

The test does not differentiate between SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2.

The test is not intended to detect influenza C antigens.

A positive result does not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with another virus.

Clinical history, symptoms, exposures and other diagnostic information should be considered when interpreting results.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Flowflex PLUS test detect?

It qualitatively detects and differentiates SARS-CoV-2, influenza A and influenza B protein antigens from an anterior nasal swab specimen.

Who can use this test?

Individuals aged 14 and older may collect and test their own anterior nasal sample. An adult must collect and perform the test for children aged 2 through 13. Do not use the test on children younger than 2.

Can the test be used without symptoms?

No. Its current authorization is limited to individuals with signs and symptoms of respiratory infection consistent with COVID-19 during the first six days after symptoms begin.

How quickly are results available?

Read the results at 15 minutes. Do not read the cassette before 15 minutes or after 30 minutes.

Why are two tests included?

The two tests allow the required serial-testing procedure. Following an initial SARS-CoV-2-negative result, test again after at least 48 hours.

Do I need to send the test to a laboratory?

No laboratory processing is required to display the initial test result. However, additional or molecular testing may be appropriate depending on the result, symptoms and healthcare needs.

Does a negative result rule out COVID-19 or influenza?

No. All negative results are presumptive and do not rule out SARS-CoV-2, influenza A or influenza B infection. Repeat COVID-19 testing and follow-up care may be necessary.

Does this test detect influenza C?

No. The test is authorized only for SARS-CoV-2, influenza A and influenza B protein antigens. It is not intended to detect influenza C.

How many tests are included?

This kit contains two single-use Flowflex PLUS COVID-19 and Flu A/B home tests.

Is this test FDA approved or cleared?

No. The test has not been FDA approved or cleared. It is currently authorized for emergency use by FDA under EUA number EUA240008.

Security at Stripe: Learn how Stripe handles security.

A PCI-certified auditor has audited Stripe. We’re a certified PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, we use the best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security at Stripe.

HTTPS and HSTS for secure connections

Stripe forces HTTPS for all services using TLS (SSL), including our public website and the Dashboard to ensure secure connections:

  • Stripe.js is served only over TLS.
  • Stripe’s official libraries connect to Stripe’s servers over TLS and verify TLS certificates on each connection.

We regularly audit the details of our implementation, including the certificates we serve, the certificate authorities we use, and the ciphers we support. We use HSTS to ensure that browsers interact with Stripe only over HTTPS. Stripe is also on the HSTS preloaded lists for both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

Sensitive data and communication encryption

All card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe’s internal servers and daemons can obtain plain text card numbers but can request that cards are sent to a service provider on a static allowlist. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in a separate hosting environment, and doesn’t share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services including our API and website.
